Meg’s How to Recover from SIPtemberfest Check List:

• Drink minimum of one pint glass of water (no, that doesn’t mean PBR.)
• Take at least one Ibuprofen and/or drink more water.
• Don’t waste time trying to put your contact lenses in; just wear your glasses.
• Make a strong-ass cup of coffee.
• Play the Dub Radio Pandora station at as loud a volume as you can handle.
• Find a nice place to sit outside and sip your coffee.
• Repeat previous steps as necessary.
• Eat some protein and some fresh fruit.
• Comment on this post or on Meg’s Events’ Facebook page or email megsevents@gmavt.net with your SIPtemberfest feedback! Your input helps us make the SIP the same but better each year, so please let us know what you think! Thanks! (We would also LOVE to see your photos so send us a couple!)

Yo! We’re out. Leave a message.

We are at SIPtemberfest. Drinking the best beer in the state of Vermont.  We will be sure to text you some photos or post some to Facebook or Instagram of us having fun so you can be all jealous.

Or you could come up and join us! It’s FREE to hang out, so even though the SIP is sold out, you can come party, eat, dance – you can even get beer and wine from the General Stark’s pub! Woo hoo!

Twas the night before SIPtemberfest and all through the state,

Beer geeks were congregating and full of debate.

Which brew to drink first? Which food to inhale?

Which beer is better? IPA or pale ale?

What order is best to taste all these brews?

When you put SIP photos on Facebook, what app do you use?

How about SIP t-shirts? Should I get one or two?

Well I know I’m getting one, what you do is up to you.

And then with a clatter someone stood on the bar!

“Not to worry!” he said “SIPtembefest isn’t far!”

And everyone cheered for they knew he was right!

I mean seriously, is there anything better than being at a mega beer party with the Northeast’s top beer makers, at one of the coolest ski-mountains in Vermont? Only then to ride a convenient shuttle… over to Hostel Tevere for some amazing food, great music, and who knows what beers will be flowing this year?  That’s right! SIPtemberfest is back, and clearly everyone who attended last year has taken measures to ensure their involvement in this years event. – Giles @ hostel tevere

Here’s the break down for SIPtemberfest, Saturday, 24, 2011

• 7am-11am Pre Party at the Big Picture Start your day out right with a good hearty breakfast at the Big Picture. They will be offering breakfast specials and more. Plus you can leave your car there and take the FREE shuttle up to SIPtemberfest!
• 10am – 2:30pm Foliage Lift Rides on Mad River Glen’s Historic Single Chair This is one of the most amazing ways to view Vermont’s beautiful foliage! Adults $10, Kids $5
• 11am-1pm Alpine Limo‘s FREE SIP Inbound Shuttle Park at the Hostel Tevere or the Big Picture and get to the SIP in style! Mike will shuttle y’all up there and back again! Park & ride, baby!! (And please don’t forget to tip your super cool bus driver!)
• 12pm SIPtemberfest Gates Open You MUST HAVE VALID ID IN HAND if you want to try our beers! If you’re not drinking, it’s free to come hang out!
• 12pm FOOD! Pick your poison: The Sausage Guy, The Skinny Pancake or the General Stark’s Pub. Yum, yum, yum!
• 12:30pm The Gulch Fun rockin’ music that pairs well with pretty much every beer on tap.
  
• 2pm- 4pm Extra tokens for sale! Details to come soon…
  
• 3pmAbby Jenne & The Enablers Not only do they rock, but they couldn’t have a better name for a beer fest band.
  
• 4pm-6pm Alpine Limo’s FREE SIP Outbound Shuttle Roll back down to the Hostel or the Big Pic the safe way!
• 5pm Last call for alcohol! You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.
• 5pm-2am Hostel Tevere After Party Let’s just say that I’m pretty sure you want to check this out…
  
• 6pm-8pm Alpine Limo’s FREE SIP Apres Shuttle Your last chance to get from the party back to you car. Mike will be looping from The Hostel to the Big Pic and back until 8pm.

• Questions: Holy bejeezums are there any SIP tickets left!?
• Answer: Yes, but you better have cat-like reflexes and get your online ticket quickly because they are on pace to sell out wicked soon. Last word was that Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier and Hostel Tevere in Warren each had a handful left, so perhaps tonight’s the night you should belly up to one of these fine establishments and get a ticket with your beer…

• Question: I have a ticket, but I didn’t get it online. Where do I go when I get there?
• Answer: We will be checking ALL tickets in the fun way: Alphabetically, (blame it on Irene folks… sorry!) We will have multiple lines to move you through quickly, but whether you won a ticket, purchased one online or at the Hostel or TPT, head to the line your last name fits in. Tickets will be listed under the last name of the purchaser, so if the team tickets are under your name, please make sure your whole posse is with you when you enter. ALSO: You MUST HAVE VALID ID to get in. It’s a beer fest. I will send my mother back to the car to get her ID, so no sighing and rolling of eyes when we turn you around too. Thanks in advance for your patience!

• Question: Pleeeeeease tell me you guys are gonna have extra tokens!?!
• Answer: Great news! We are selling extra tokens this year! Finally! We are still dialing in the exact way this will go down, but rest assured that if 40 ounces of high octane craft beer isn’t enough for you, you can have a little more.

• Question: What will the weather be like?
• Answer: I never get tired of this question. It will be “Vermonty.” This means that absolutely anything is possible. I’m routing for high 60s and sunshine. In fact, let’s all channel our inner-hippies for a second and visualize kickin’ it at SIPtemberfest, under sunshine and foliage, drinking the best beers, listening to amazing music, stuffing our faces with delicious food, laughing, dancing, riding the single chair…Man, it’s a beautiful day!… all that good stuff.

• Question: What should we bring?
• Answer: Excellent question. Aside from the aforementioned valid ID, bring a little cash for food and a t-shirt. You can bring your well behaved, leashed dog, but please don’t forget a $@!#bag – thanks. A camera or smart phone so you can snap photos and post them instantly to Facebook bragging to all your friends that you are at SIPtemberfest! You can also bring friends who aren’t drinking – it’s FREE to come hangout!

• Question: Why didn’t you invite my favorite brewer?
• Answer: We invite all Vermont brewers that we know of. It’s entirely up to them whether they come or not.  Sometimes its scheduling, sometimes its supply and demand, sometimes it’s trips to Europe… But if you don’t see a brewer you were hoping to see in our line up, let them know you’d love to see them here in the future!

• Question: What’s the word on the Shuttle?
• Answer: This our way of getting you from one epic party to another! Alpine Limo will be running a shuttle 11am – 1pm and 4pm-6pm, looping from Hostel Tevere to MRG and back. This is a FREE service, but for good karma, please tip the party-bus driver for making your life easy! We might be adding a stop to the loop so stay tuned…
