This is for real! It’s time for the first Win-a-ticket SIPGame! We are giving away TWO individual tickets – one for the FIRST PERSON to correctly identify the location of this shot and ONE for the best Caption! You can enter on here or on Meg’s Events Facebook page, but please let us know how to reach you! And yes, you can enter as many times as you like.

UPDATE: WE HAVE A WINNER for the SPOT THE SHOT: This was taken at Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier! A wonderful spot to drink local awesome beer – and get your SIPtemberfest tickets while you’re at it!

Let the Games Begin!

[Editor's Note: Yes, this is mostly a repeat post. Some of the publishing formats on WordPress are a little awkwardly designed and easy to eff-up, especially when a certain someone is without ample sleep and/or caffeine. I apologize for the plethora of SIP posts today - I never intend to spam and there won't be anything other than the posts you WANT to get from here on out! Thanks for your understanding!]

Everyone wants to be a winner right? Well remember how last year we had contests you could enter to WIN tickets to SIPtemberfest? Turns out we are doing it again and we are pretty psyched about it, quite frankly! We love giving stuff away!

Here’s the deal:

  • Step 1: Be in the Know! Games will start THURSDAY, AUGUST 18 so be sure to get all linked up! Like Meg’s Events on Facebook and/or follow Meg’s Events and SIPtemberfest on twitter and/or sign up for FRESH SIPS (over there on the right of your screen) so when we post the latest game, you can know right away!
  • Step 2: Play! We are going to have fun and “easy” games for you to play, such as the Spot the Shot/Caption Contest, the SIPHaiku Contest and the infamously difficult SIP crossword – the Guzzle Puzzle (which will be easier this year, by popular demand…) So get out your dictionary, your thesaurus and your brain fuel (ie a good quality beer) and get all creative with your entries! You can also RSVP to our Facebook invite to be entered into a random drawing for a ticket!
  • Step 3: WIN! Winners of these games will win one ticket each to SIPtemberfest! Some games may have SIPVIP packages prizes which include two tickets, two t-shirts, two meal vouchers and more! Prizes will be noted on each contest post. Winners MUST be 21 years old or older to  participate in the tasting.
  • Step 4: Be Safe! Not all of us have tiger blood in our veins. Some of us are lucky SOBs, and others of us are not. So get your tickets at Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier, Hostel Tevere in Warren or online at TicketLeap just in case.

The Elusive Beer List

I bet you want to know what beer will be at SIPtemberfest, huh.

Well for several reasons that list will not be published right away, but let me give you a small sampling of some the breweries that we have lined up this year, just to whet your appetite.  Check it out and then get your tickets before it’s too late!

  • Lawson’s Finest Liquids – There are some vicious rumors floating around that LFL will not be at the SIP this year. There are also rumors that Elvis Presley will be at the SIP this year… I can’t confirm the Elvis story, but I can confirm that Lawson’s will be joining us again and that’s that.
  • Bobcat Cafe & Brewery – There are also some vicious rumors about Bobcat not being at the SIP this year. [Dear Vicious Rumor Starters: speak only of what you know please!] Bobcat will also be back at the SIP this year and that’s a fact.
  • The Shed Pub & Brewery – One of last year’s most popular brewers will be pouring again this year!
  • Switchback Brewery – Ask and you shall receive! Switchback Brewery will be returning to the SIP after a year off! We are SO excited to welcome them back – and I’ll bet you are too!
  • The Vermont Beer Company – If you haven’t heard of these guys, boy, oh boy are you  in for a treat! They may be new, but my gosh, they are good!
  • Many more… No seriously, many more…! This isn’t even close to the full line up. We have a bunch of other amazing breweries scheduled to bring their best and hardest-to-find beers for your sipping pleasure and we are still working with some of your favorites to get them to join us again. If you don’t see your favorite brewery on this list, you might just tell them you’d love to see them at the 2011 SIP!

Tickets for sale!

Greetings team!

The moment you’ve been waiting for is here! Ok, well, almost…

In mere hours you will be able to purchase your tickets to the best little beer fest in Vermont – SIPtemberfest! At 7am, August 1, follow this link to our TicketLeap page to get your tickets. But don’t get left out; we’ve sold out the last two years, so I’d advise you get your tickets sooner than later!

What’s that? You don’t want to get your tickets online? Well no worries! Our friends at Hostel Tevere and Three Penny Taproom will be selling a limited number of tickets at their fine establishments again.  You can head down to Warren or Montpelier and get your tickets from these real live friendly humans and of course you should get a beer or two while you’re at it…

What’s that? Are we doing contests for tickets again this year? YES! You can RSVP to our Facebook invite and automatically be entered into a drawing for free tickets. Plus we are scheming some other playful ways to win so if you want to chance it and test out your relationship with Lady Luck, we will have a handful of tickets you could win!
